      @Anonymous

As long as you are a paid Apple Developer you can use this version of Chimera to boot Mountain Lion Preview.

Well of course, why would anyone do this and not be a paid developer... that would be illegal!

Sadly, I bet 80% of the people using this aren't registered Developers.

I'll be waiting until Summer unless SWMBO agrees to a $100 "unnecessary" purchase :)

Why didn't Apple call their new OSX "Cougar" instead of "Mountain Lion"? Would sound a lot cooler ;-) Obviously they had poor consultants. Ref.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cougar

the graficenabler freezez when trying to load my radeon hd 5970 ..:c and i look for updates everyday and i keep chimera always up to date.. :c and on all other versions it have worked fine i have to remake the kext edits on every os update but that's all.. witch ofc is to disable the second gpu in the atix3000.kext and add device id (0x689c1002) to ati5000controller.kext the the ati rom file is always in the extra folder.. it would be awesome if someone like tonymacx86 or whatever c; could make both gpus to work c: but that would maybe never be done.. :c and a fix for random white freezez with grey stripes on the screen it doesnt happens really often but still too often.. :c i had chimera on a other harddrive by some strange reason so i was able to boot with graphics and install chimera 1.7.0 using multibeast.. so it's not panic but it would be nice if you at least could get the radeon hd 5970 to work again as fast as possible c:

The new OS was called Mountain Lion to show that it will be more of a minor update rather than a fully fledged new OS. Think Leopard to Snow Leopard.

Calling it Cougar would have given the impression of a major upgrade.

      Hope that makes some sense.

Hello , I am having trouble with my INNO3D nvidia 9500 gt 1gb ,could you please explain what you mean by a proper driver . I do not know what drivers are suited for my card
I have yet to enable the graphics and it is stopping me from completeing my osx project . Would the Multibeast lion installer option to patch open GL Fermi driver help me enabling nvidia at all or should it be left unticked

apple had copyright issus wit intel over the cougar name therefore mountain lion

They, Apple, already had Puma, and a "mountain lion" is, "binomially", a Puma concolor.

Kinda looks like a lion, too, and is certainly the tawny color of a lion, but it is very much smaller, and is a member of the genetic line which includes the domesticated felines.

Yeah, it works for Windows 8 ...

This update is purely amazing, before when I had the older version of Chimera running on my Hackintosh youtube at 1080p would run at like 1 fps or completely lock up. As well anything graphic related ran pretty poor as well as a very low cinebench score.

Its funny I had to reinstall chimera because I had to clone my drive due to installing PDA net for android and afterwards my system wouldnt boot. Like an idiot I erased the partition instead of just carbon copying over the existing partition. So I figured I'd give the new version of chimera a shot and I am mesmerized at how much performance I have gotten out of this updated bootloader. Now I can run youtube at 1080p with zero lag, I am very happy words describe my joy! I'm pretty sure my video editing programs and games will run pretty zippy as well now. Thank you for all the hard work Tonymacx86 Team! You guys are brilliant, amazing and inspirational and have allowed me to have the computer of my dreams at half the price! Keep it up!

@ TheSneakySnake You didnt need to reinstall Lion due to PDANet failure, this happened to me, i just booted into Windows and removed PDANet kext, or you can do it through single user mode.

Also i have now installed PDANet and it worked fine after a fresh install of Lion 10.7.2 with Unibeast.

Now this is weird...After a week or two of use my Cinebench score dropped from 33 FPS to 6.8 FPS :( i'm a very sad panda yo. Wondering if I should downgrade back to 10.7.1 where I had a 37 FPS cinebench score.
