    I get this:

No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

    wtf ??

    mmvie said...

In report to that: it seems my system tries to boot from a network, meaning it already passed trying to boot from hard drive.

Pressing 'boot options' on startup and selecting hard drive manually ends up in the same.

I'm getting partial working SB graphics on my i5-2500k here. My question, and idk if I'm just missing it, but where do we get the MacMini system definition as pictured above? I've tried editing my smbios, but I just end up with a "Mac" in the system. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Bkribbs said...

so you say multiple connectors via smbios, what do you mean by multiple connectors?

    tonymacx86 said...

    @bb2g40
We're adding it to the next MultiBeast- due in a few days-for now the Macmini5,1 smbios is available here. I just linked it to the post above. :)

    @Bkribbs
Multiple connectors meaning dual screens- DVI/HDMI or HDMI/HDMI or VGA/HDMI, etc...

    mmvie said...

    @bb2g40

With SB I would go for MacbookPro8.1 ;)

My screen just goes black during boot. I have an Acer Aspire 5750 with Core i3 i3-2310m with an HD 3000. Before this version of Chimera, it would go all garbely and fail to boot. Now it just goes black. It gets to the DSMOS has arrived, then quickly a line about ACPI... Then black. It seems to just stop sending a signal. I tried it on the HDMI cable, where it sent HDMI out to my HDTV and left the laptop screen blank. Once it reached that point the TV reported 'No Signal'.

    What'd I do wrong?

    mmvie said...

This Chimera is not working for me, or I'm missing something...

    - Just used Windows dvd to regain a bootloader (because bootloader was completely missing)
    - Booted to Snow Leopard drive with iBoot
    - From there installed Chimera 1.5 on Lion
    - Reboot without any disk/usb and I end up nicely in Windows, as if Chimera install did nothing at all...

Can someone post a dummy for chimera's ? =D I must be on this OSX for too long.

    bkribbs1 said...

    @tonymacx86

    that's what I thought.

But my VGA doesn't work. Would that be something that has to do with my specific laptop, or something the boot loader would fix?

Doesn't work for me either. I have the Gigabyte z68xp iSSD motherboard with a single HDMI interface for the desktop i5 2500K CPU.
After the legacy Apple logo in 10.6.8, the Apple logo disappears as if the frame buffer is reinitialising but the screen stays grey.
If I unplug and plug the HDMI, the screen stays black on insert.
A VNC session reveals my system profile just has an empty Display Connector: field with nothing relating to my monitor underneath.
AppleIntelHDGraphics and AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB are loaded and are unmodified as per the Chimera claim.
It's an improvement on previous attempts to modify the DSDT with the PCI vendor ID masking of the IGP and modify AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB with the real ID of the IGP but still not perfect.
It still fills like a connector issue regardless of the full Macmini5,1 smbios profile being used and the fact the Macmini5,1 has a single HDMI out back, similar to my system board.
So, any chance on zoning in on the HDMI port under Snow Leopard?
The above test was with a fresh Snow Leopard install and combo patch to 10.6.8.

    Regards,

    Tony.

    Hi,
the white screen problem seems to be a conflict with the appleintelhdgraphics.kext
if you delete this kext and reboot, no more white screen and you have full resolution, but i don't know if you have QECI enable, i haven't front row.
you can remake this white screen with a fresh installation of lion without using chimera 1.5 but the one include in multibeast if you inject the fake id 126 in the dsdt without adding your real id (112 for i5 2500K)in the appleintelsnbgraphicFB and the appleintelhdgraphics kexts

    Tony,
After being unsuccessful with the non-dsdt method, a freezing white screen using chimera 1.5, and partial success (better resolution, but not full) in safe mode, I'm at a loss for what to do here. I've also tried dsdt inject, but that fails as well.

    Asrock h67-itx
    i5-2500k

The funny thing is, chess works for me, youtube doesn't, x264 videos do (albiet some tearing) and my resolution is stuck at 1024x768. Is this a motherboard problem? The main reason why I think it isn't is that I have another system with an asrock h67 board that works great with a gt9400 graphics card.

    Any suggestions?

For the ones who have the white screen or grey screen after the apple screen, if you boot with -x mode and then S\L\E ,copy Appleintelhdgraphics on the desktop, go to info.plist , modify one of the device id with your real id, install it with kext utility or another program,

then install the kext that tony modify when he has test the dsdt injection method (i tried the rimmi's one (10.7.1) or the original edited the info.plist and change one device id with my real id but no one works, only the tony modified one works for me)

reboot and it will work with full resolutiopn and QE/CI(HD video works)

so it seems that with some motherboard, chimera 1.5 doesn't succeed to inject the real id in those two kext.

i had to patch the AICPM.kext+dsdt edit to get speedstep. With the usual dsdt edits, i got a KP
Does people who have the white/grey screen issue , had the same problem with the AICPM kext?

Flaked explain that some operation are locked by some motherboard bios for AICPM, so maybe chimera 1.5 too.

What is you experience with chimera 1.5 graphicenabler?, i think that a feedback with the motherboard information could be helpfull

    For me :
doesn't work = white grey screen
    Processor: I5 2500K device id 112
    Motherboard: ZOTAC H67

Not really working with GA-H67M-D2-B3 and I3-2105. When using Chimera 1.5 with Lion 10.7 or 10.7.1 and the originally IntelHDGraphics and IntelSNBGraphicsFB Kexts, I get still the "Transcript Offline - Buffer Pool Allocate" Error. The access via Remote Desktop is working well and showing the HD3000 Graphics as named above in the posting, but with ID0126 instead of 0112, which must be the right one for my I3-2105. But directly after the start of chimera 1.5 Bootloader the correct CPU and GPU ID (0112) is showing on the screen, but somehow the kexts will not correctly injected. With Lion 10.7 the information desk will only show a internal Intel GPU but not the correct Name (e.g. HD3000)

When using my modified Graphic-Kexts with ID 0102 (not 0112) and the Chimera 1.4.1, I can get into OSX and get Graphic running, but it seems without Q&E.The graphics looks very slow. How in Lion Q&E can be tested?

Applied this fix yesterday to a Gigabyte GA-Z68-MA-D2H-B3 board with i2500K CPU and it works.... However, if only one display is connected, it must be the DVI connector. If only HDMI is connected then I don't get past the white screen during boot. Only DVI, and DVI+HDMI work fine.

Does Chimera already support Intel HD Graphics from the first generation i5 (430m, 520m, etc). I've been having trouble trying to get graphics acceleration for my i5-430m.

With hd 3000 there are always 512 MB in system information although the settings are different in the bios. And this on GA-H67-USB3 or GA-Z68-UD3H-B3 for example. Only first video connector works, HDMI on the first mentioned motherboard and DVI on the second. Errors with AppleHDA and AudioAUUC on Sandy Bridge and AudioAUUC. Even Transcript Offline - Buffer Pool Allocate [181000] failed and so on except this things are working.

    Anonymous said...

    Agree with above.
My BIOS is set to the max of 384MB for my amount of RAM (8GB).
But OSX always reports 512MB allocated to video.
Also, my Gigabyte Z68XP iSSD board has only one connector, the HDMI and it's not outputting anything with Chimera 1.5.3. I just get the light grey screen that was left behind once the legacy Apple logo disappeared.
Lion does not suit me as many of my apps are PPC based and for the most part Lion doesn't perform well on the older software even once tweaked like turning off local tm backup etc.
Please, please fix the HDMI connection of the Gigabyte iSSD board so Snow Leopard can use it.

    Regards,

    Tony.

So basically all the SandyBridge Silicon all comes out the same, they just laser etch (deactivation) hunks of GPU and CPU for lesser models,
The primary difference between Intel® HD Graphics 2000 and Intel® HD Graphics 3000 is the number of execution units contained in the processor. Intel HD Graphics 2000 contains six execution units and Intel HD Graphics 3000 contains twelve execution units.

Other people having problems with this remove your pci express cards when booting with the new version of chimera. I used chimera 1.5.3.

Macman , thank you so much, this chimera boot loader is POWERFUL, it can make my ATI HD4350 and NVIDIA cards running even there are "Unsupported Card" shown when boot while i'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8. This Chimera also make it run on MacOSX Lion 10.7-10.7.2 smoothly. i never success using Chameleon, even it's official build or unofficial build so far. is it possible for you to give tutorial to recompile iBoot with chimera to be able to install Retail Snow Leopard 10.6? because when i try iBoot latest , and try clean install with my Ati or Nvidia it will stuck after screen go up and blank only mouse rolling , no menu installation shows up.

Samsung RF411 Intel HD 3000 works perfectly, although it is a Nvidia Optimus laptop that has a discrete GT 525M card. When booting up into the UniBeast Lion installer, I had full native resolution. Also had full native resolution at 1366x768 in Lion 10.7.2 (after Software Update). Just had to include GraphicsEnabler=Yes in com.apple.boot.plist. But otherwise, no problem. This is one perfect HD 3000 laptop. Acceleration is perfect. I can even play Minecraft at max settings at above 60 FPS.

    HD 3000.
I've got problem with GraphicsEnabler=Yes, when turn on, i've got proper resolution but system is extremly slow and unresponsive, only mouse cursor works smoothly. I've got HDMI(board) to DVI(monitor) connection cable. And cannot connect other way. I use MBP 8.1 or Macmini. Everything else goes smoothly. Anybody knows a solution? already above 20 reinstalls:(
and this is my last quest.

This doesn't seem to work for me either. Running Lion on a Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z68MA-D2H-B with an Intel i3 2105. I only get 1024 x 768 and no QE/CI. Do I need to modify org.Chameleon.Boot.plist manually at all?
