Today Apple released Mac OS X 10.6.6 the 6th major update to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. To update for any supported CPU, simply run Software Update, or download the standalone installer from Apple.
Be sure to back up any important data, and if possible clone your hard drive before applying the update. Testing is underway. Report your results in the forum here.

- The Mac App Store is included! This application shows up in the dock after reboot.
- 10.6.0 Darwin kernel
- Replacement NVIDIA drivers - not Fermi capable.
Most supported systems will not need to make post-installation fixes, but here are a few points to be aware of.
- Graphics - If you're using a NVIDIA 4xx "Fermi" card, you will have to re-run the NVIDIA Update to regain full acceleration. Make sure you have a Mac Pro System Definition installed from MultiBeast, or it will not let you install. You may also use the tonymacx86 NVIDIA Update.
- Audio - The Combo update will replace your AppleHDA.kext. If you aren't using the ALC889a codec, you will have to reinstall AppleHDA Rollback using MultiBeast. If you're using VoodooHDA, you will not need to make any modifications.
- USB - The Combo update will replace your IOUSBFamily, kext. To restore full USB functionality on a non-DSDT or EasyBeast system install USB Rollback using MultiBeast before reboot. Download MultiBeast.
- Sleep enabler kexts are version specific. Remove before installing the update.

Anyone knows if this release includes the full driver for Radeon 6XXX series?
Any hardware compatibility improvements?
I'm getting an error when using Tony's Nvidia updater indicating that I have to be on 10.6.5 or higher. I was reckless and simply used online updates to upgrade. All else is fine.
works great with the update from system settings!
H55N-USB3, I3, GTS250, successfuly updated, no issue at all (Voodoohda, no Sleep Enablers and DSDT)
I lost Audio, but my BIOS reverted to an older version this morning so it could be that.
anyone tried this on radeon cards?
My usb isn't working so I can't use the keyboard and the mouse! what can I do?
Maarten, all good on hd4850
I updated but appstore hang when i try to download an app. Is this due to hackintosh?
Please read the instructions for the 10.6.5 update if you are having issues with this update. Many people had USB and sound issues there and the fixes have already been discussed.
:o)
P55-UD3R updated; had to run MB to get audio back. App Store is great!
10.6.6 For fermi install tonymac nvidia update manually(show package content and install all). It's work for me
AMD user here. Updated to 10.6.6 with no issues. App and everything else works.
P55M-UD2+Radeon 5850 here. Painless install.
installed and working fine
Should we upgrade to 10.6.5 before 10.6.6 even though this is a combo?
Will the unified audio kext be updated to accomodate 10.6.6 audio change or will we continue to have to install rollback HDA?
What changes need to be made to Multibeast to accomodate this osx release, if any?
Upgrade worked well for me on my GA-EP45-DS3-R
Just had to remove SleepEnabler.kext before.
Radeon ATI 5770 (Vapor X) / GA-P55A-UD4P Updated.
Used apple updater. There were some glitches the first time I booted. The screens did not come on. I rebooted with all usb devices unplugged and 2nd monitor unplugged and it came up.. I ran system util in Multibeast for good measure and everything is working again.
Hi!
There is no problem with this update (USB) on ASRock H55M/USB3 R2.0.
Only the GFX (NVIDIA GTX 460) isn't still work... The NVIDIA Update haven't resolve that problem.
Hey guys, I'm running an i5-760 , GA-P55-USB3 and an HD 5770 and i'm doing fine. Updated directly from Software Update and I'd had no issue so far so anyone with similar specs should be in the clear.
i7-980X, X58A-UD7, Radeon HD 5870, used AppleHDA rollback: looks good here.
I used combo update and on restart i got kernal error, can boot it,how do i fix it,thanks
the appstore hanging on downloads is related to mds.
make sure you log in and reverify your billing info first if possible, then in activity monitor kill mds and it should work
I think this update screws up the ability to download youtube videos using the safari/window/activity trick. Anyway to uninstall 10.6.6?
Dell Optiplex 760 10.6.5 > 10.6.6
-Deleted sleepenabler.kext
-done
Same for ASUS P7P55D-E Pro
USB works just fine on both.
Stable install straight from Software Update... but problems with Radeon 4890:
-No OpenGL acceleration of any kind.
-Expose and other QuartzGL features are choppy.
-No transparent Menu bar.
-Flash ads and videos crash any web browser (this is a big deal).
Specs:
Core-i7 870 @ 2.93Ghz

I successfully upgraded my Hacintosh.
Here is my Hacintosh spec.
System: Gateway FX Series FX6801-01
CPU: Intel Core i7 950(3.07GHz)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285
First, I didn't think well enough and I went ahead and ran the software update it anyway. It upgraded fine, but since I had SleepEnabler.kext, it wouldn't boot because SleepEnabler is version specific.
I had my system backed up in Time Machine, so I booted the machine with iBoot and started Snow Leopard installer. Instead of starting the whole new Mac OS X installation process, I restored the system from Time Machine.
And then I deleted SleepEnabler.kext. After that, I started the upgrade process. When upgrade process finished, I downloaded MultiBeast and installed EasyBeast and everything worked fine.
Come to think of it, when the OS kernel panicked, I could have just booted the system with iBoot and delete SleepEnabler.kext and then install EasyBeast and everything could have been fine. Oh well, everything is all good now.
I just want to thank tonymacx86 for great support for the community. Because of you guys, I decided to make my PC a Hacintosh and it has been great! I have been using my Hacintosh for the last few months and I'm loving it.
Thank you!
im srry ^^ ,,
its stop working when i updated it but not rebooting it..
but when i rebooted the system .. now its work just fine :D
btw i used combo update ^^ :D
Report:
-Deleted SleepEnabler
-Installed Update (had to select reboot before running the update, it didn't give me a chance to run MB right after the install)
-System rebooted with messed up screen
-Rebooted to safe mode, ran MB, installed sound drivers, ATI 10.6.5 patch, USB rollback
-Rebooted the system and everything is working perfectly

Whoa,, updated to the latest software update for mac and now my digital coax output works and its clear as ever, only problem is that i cannot adjust the volume. any one know how to fix this?
lost my sound, but HDA rollback fixed that... also, display is giving me small annoyances - when i boot up, sometimes the screen stays blue until i reset my monitor, or something its just gets very blueish hue... this was not a problem 10 minutes ago in 10.6.5 /:
the worst part however is that now, everything i try to do makes my hard drive seek and make a loud seeking sound.. mouse-over-dock>SEEK, mouse-off-of-dock>SEEK, open=finder>SEEK
im gonna rollback .. and anyways mac app stores not that good at all.
I could not find SleepEnabler.kext... Where is this located? m on 10.6.5 iboot+MB. Thanks.
HIS Radeon 4890 designed for PC but flashed for Mac Pro. Was working fine under 10.6.5 but down to one monitor/no OpenGL acceleration. Didn't think before installing the update; presume will have to wait for an update to Zeus to fix this.
sapphire 4890 same problem as Sid reported, in the new app window sometimes stuttering and flickering, videocard makes weird noises, no video in VLC, iphoto doesn't give the 'full' picture view, ...
Updated from 10.6.4 to combo update 10.6.6
Install successful
Audio workin,
Use usb rollback from multibeast before reboot
Appstore fully working
gtx460 doesn't work after update, any solution?
Piece of cake. Started Apple software update. My hackintosh (Chameleon 2.0-RC3) rebooted and everything worked fine as it should: Asus ENGT240 graphics card and ALC1200 audio all O.K. Even my Apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse worked O.K.
So AppleHDA.kext was not replaced by the update. The update included indeed kernel update to Darwin 10.6.0, and I have now the Apple Store in place. Not sure if that is a blessing....

I lost the full resolution after the update, but i just had to install the Nvidia fermi drivers, clean cache and reboot.
Ps.: The Tony Nvidia driver installer doesn't work, i think that it stops in the version configuration, odd...

After I updated my Acer M5811 my Computer didn't boot with the message: "Error parsing plist file Loading Darwin...
...Mach-O file has bad magic number..."
please help
I had the "Mach-O" error yesterday for unknown reason after a successful upgrade. It happened after I added voodoo and networking kexts and would not go away even after i deleted the kexts. After trying numerous things for about an hour I just gave up and reverted to my backup that I made right after the upgrade to 10.6.6. Still no idea what caused it....
BTW, does anyone know where we can find the latest patched sleepenabler.kext?
Update went smoothly, even the vanilla USB drivers work perfectly on my machine. Audio had to be repatched though. Other than that, this update is noticeably snappy.
I installed 10.6.3 with a RETAIL DVD disk following the guide on this site with iBoot. Then I immediately updated to 10.6.6 with combo update. The update went fine. Then I installed MultiBeast stuff. I also installed the official OSX Fermi drivers.
I'm having some problems however as sound isn't working with either the ALC88x or AppleHDA kexts. I will try the VoodooHDA kext. Preferrably I would like audio through the gtx460 HDMI and I've seen some clues so I'll keep on searching. Every second (re)boot my system starts really slow and It's almost unusable when reaching the desktop. This was present during 10.6.3 as well.
Flash and hardware acceleration started working some reboots after the Fermi driver install. Before flash would crash the system. I'm having under/overscan issues however. I can see no way to manually shrink the screen. Either It's too big or too small.
My configuration:
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 with F10c bios
Core i5 2,67Ghz
4GB DDR3
Zotac GTX460 768MB (connected to 720P TV through hdmi, onboard separate sound chip)
Sparkle 9500GT 1GB (not connected to any display currently, sound coming from motherboard through s/pdif)
i was at 10.6.3 til just now. but on reboot my machine hangs on the blue screen for literially 10 mins or more then the login window just pops up & goes as normal. im sure i messed the kexts up somewhere, im kind of playing it by ear. everything else works cool, the audio & all. but some software cant read my VRAM for some reason. i dont think its related directly to the 10.6.6 update though.

Updated to 10.6.6

GA-P55A-UD4P F14 DSDT GT220
10.6.6 installed and rebooted to full everything.
Slick as Slick can be.
Are ati's Radeon hd 5145 graphics cards supported in this.
Can someone please tell me , need to know soon please.
I noticed I couldn't edit my old post. I meant I had the F11c bios and not F10c.
I got HDMI sound working on my Zotac gtx460 by using an older VoodooHDA version, 0.2.56 and choosing the second HDMI output.
I've also connected this computer to a Dell 1080P computer display and it works very good.
I've updated the rest of the updates of software update and there were no problems.
The problem I'm still having is slow every 2nd boot and perhaps some lockups but I think they got fewer by downgrading VoodooHDA.
Razor1394, had the really slow boot under 10.6.5. Basically I would press the reset button at the chameleon screen and it would boot up fine. I also have a gigabyte board h55n-usb3. Not sure how I fixed it. I either resolved it by resetting my bios or at some point after installing kexts. Try resetting bios. Make sure you restore any critical settings I.e. Achi on sata adaptor.
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L , Q6600, 8GB Ram, 8800GT 256
Upgraded using software update. Lost audio , ran rollback and I'm good. System running smoothly, app store works perfectly.
To add to my comment a minute ago, I upgraded direct from 10.6.4 re: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Thanks
I get panic after graphics drivers go in.
10.6.4 Legacy Kernel - 10.6.6
x1800XT using EVOEnabler, ATIX1000, ATIX1900 kexts...
After installing them I get panic and can't boot back into OS.
Please help me!
I have ALC888VC Audio on an Intel DP43TF, I have not been able to get it running on Apple HDA and Voodoo HDA worked fine up to now. I removed Voodoo as instructed... Selected ALC8xxHDA + AppleHDA Rollback + Sys Utils on my Non DSDT patched system rebooted... and NO AUDIO.
Furthermore, the system no longer likes the Voodoo HDA driver.
...and still not able to get anything but a black screen with my webcam on iChat, photo booth etc.. but works on Skype and Facebook (flash camera app).
SleepEnabler no doubt will not work either when a (supposedly) version-supported one becomes available
Otherwise it seems fine...
Had to patch (again) with my own IOUSBFamily.kext from a previous install as none of the mutlibeast USB patched work on this system either.
Correction... I retried retiring the ALC8xxGDA kexr with the VoodooHDA and HDAHelper.kext... rebooted and now have sound back...
Pretty much given up hope on getting any of my cams working with photobooth or ichat
We just did an install on a GA-P55M-UD4 and it updated with absolutely no problems. Lan, Audio, GeForce 210 graphic card and USB working.
One of our other machines with a GTX 460 graphic card in a P55-USB3 rev2 MB is having all types of problems. He was able to fix his audio based on this blog but not his graphic card. The Tonymac Nividia Update won't install. That machine is posting separately on the forum. If anyone can help him, please give suggestions. He is posting a detailed litany of steps he's taken so far.
Well i need some help, i tried installing the tonymacx86 Nvidia update straight from the contents folder. It wasn' letting me do it the regular way... My card still isnt being named correctly. I have no sound even though i re-installed the multibeast like some of you said, and now i cannot see my windows drives nor can i log into Mac OSX with it being under safe mode. If i try i get the restart screen... Any ideas please?
Several tries on
ASUS U30J
i5-430M + NVidia 310M (512M)
iBoot-GE + Install: OK, can boot into MacOSX
and create account and work on that.
ComboUpdates 10.6.3.1 to 10.6.5 end up wiht kernel panic
MultiBeast doesn't install correctly :( Neither UserDSDT nor EasyBoot. Could it be that I don't understand the multibeast guide correctly? Do you just select EasyBoot and that's it, or do you need to select bootloader and other stuff too?
iBoot-GE on fresh install works, but incorrect graphics parameters and no acceleration.
Found a working 10.6.6 SleepEnabler
hope it works for you guys.

Dfi p45 t2rs all perfect
Ok guys i dont know how to post with my name here so.... I commented yesterday asking for help, so i installed Tonymacx86 Nvidia driver from the content package bout 5 time before they worked lol. I also had to run multi beast for the Kexts,System Utilities, and System definitions Mac Pro 3.1. And voila everything is back to normal with no errors =) But like i said my computer was tempermental had to try like 5 times intalling all that and restarting with error screens till no more! Thnx for the ideas guys..
Oh sorry one last thing i forgot to mention, i deleted the voodoo drivers as well..
hi guys,
my GA-P55 USB3 cant get to sleep !?`! If I dont it it dont wakes up. :(
what is my fault ? What Kext or trick do I need ?
I have p55a-ud4 and zotac 240 gt 1gb.
I don´t have configured audio for hdmi. If anyone can help him, please¡
Still Black Screen with Webcam in photobooth and iChat... anyone got working webcam with either an Intel Q8200 processor or DP43TF board... am guessing here but I reckon one of these 2 is the culprit. Webcam works with Skype, Facebook and Logicam Video Software but none of the mac apps. I did manage to get it recognized as isight witgout the sound (as many have) but still got black screens. Only other issue I have is no working sleep enabler on any version SL to date
Setup with latest iBoot, MultiBeast v3 and OSX DVDs 10.6.5 which has been working for some time perfectly. Decided to be brave and just let it update to 10.6.6.
After upgrade-n-reboot; everything still worked perfectly and I'm happy. I have a bit older setup but machine is very fast and build for ~$500.

QuarkXpress 8.5 and 10.6.6 are not playing nice together. Quark was very stable in 10.6.5 but I've had no less than 5 crashes in the last hour after updating.
Gigabyte EP45-UD3L
GTX 260
Used 10.6.6 updater and everything worked fine. USB, Sound, and Graphics all work.
Hrm, FAILED update here. Kernel panics on boot.
Intel S5520HC motherboard (dual Xeon, "server" board, so no onboard sound, and while it has a physical x16 slot, it's electrically only x8, along with three other physical x8 slots,) Radeon 5770. I'm guessing it's the Radeon drivers doing it, but haven't figured it out for certain yet. (Stupid me, I had overwritten my 'emergency backup' drive and hadn't recreated it before upgrading.
Come on guys! It's not that hard! Just follow the instructions and buy recommended hardware! I spent no more than a week and my system is running stable.
I feel like a lot of people just whine and ask for help rather than trying to learn and earn their success.
My config: GA-H55M-UD2H, i3-540, ATI HD4850, Multibeast 3.03 DSDT method.
Went from 10.6.5 to 10.6.6.using automatic update. Everything perfect. Even the sound is still working without the need for AppleHDA rollback (using Macman's ALCxxx driver).
Just one thing: after each boot the MDS (spotlight indexing service) is busy for at least 3~5 minutes. This relates to the system partition as switching off indexing on all other partitions does not help.
Anyone else has that experience?
Yeah, i have this same experience.
MDS is extremely busy the first minutes...
Found no solution yet..
Thank tonymacx86 & company; updated to 10.6.6 on my eVGA x58 Micro. Just used Multibeast for the audio rollback to get sound back.
Do I reinstall my DSDT after the update in order for sleep to work?
I didn't use sleepenabler.
Latest sleepenabler.kext:
New 10.6.6 SleepEnabler.Kext Download
Need to add "arch=i386 pmVersion=21" under your /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist "Kernel Flags" section.
com.apple.Boot.plist Screenshot
Seems to be working for many people. ENJOY!
Norbs, thank you very much for the sleepenabler fix; much appreciated!
Sleep now works in my system with 10.6.6 update.
Again, thanks a lot!
@Riad Glad it worked for you! I'm having some mixed results but it might be something else that is causing the problem because I been messing with a lot of things on this system lately.
However there was another system I could never get a the sleep to work in 10.6.x but now in 10.6.6 with the new enabler it started working so I guess that's a good thing.
Update: OK reinstalled from scratch and everything work now with the new sleepenabler on my main computer.
I have gone from 10.6.3 to 10.6.6 which installed fine after deleting the sleepenabler but now system is very slow to load up programs and also safari seems to be crashing when loading up youtube videos or any other videos. Anyone know what i can do to fix this? I have an optiplex 755 ultra small form which had 10.6.6 running fine just without the graphics driver
Updated without removing sleepenabler.kext. Now it wont go into sleep mode :p
@Juelz285
I could of swore that Intel Video was poorly supported. I run a Optiplex 760 but I don't use the ultrasmall just so that I can use a nVidia graphics card with it. I think I tried and failed with intel graphics many times.
@ Norbs
the optiplex 755 ultra small does not have any pci slots to install a new graphics card. i have been running on vesa mode 1024 x 768. i only use it for logic anyway so it does the job i want it to do. only thing is i cant update it now from 10.6.3 to 10.6.6 without it being extremely slow. i have a feeling i am missing doing something other than only deleting the sleepenabler kext. any ideas why it would be running so slow opening programs?
Updated flawlessly to 10.6.6 on my:
Gigabyte P55-UD3L Rev.1.0
i5-750
EVGA GTS250
All it needs is a DSDT, ethernet, usb rollback, ACL8xx, Apple HDA rollback and all is well. Boots straight from hard drive no problem! Thanks a bunch! I can't wait for iBoot to upgrade to the P67 Sandy Bridge mobo!
So I noticed on some systems that SleepEnabler.kexts works better in /System/Library/Extensions rather then the normal /Extra/Extensions. Was able to get a laptop to work properly just by changing that location.
Updated flawlessly to 10.6.6 on my:
ga-x58a-ud3r
gtx 460
i7 950
12gb hiperx 1600
but still have random freezes 4-6 time per day, same as before.
HELP!
lenovo g560 work ??
Try http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enabler/downloads/detail?name=SleepEnabler.kext.10.6.x.zip&can=2&q=
should work in 64bit with pmVersion=21 in Boot.plist (without arch=i386 that is)
Core i5, P55M-UD2, ATI 5770. Works flawlessly with me needing only to rollback the sound driver using multibeast.
i3, P55M-UD2, Nvidia 8600GTS. Works flawlessly except for have to rollback the sound driver.
I can confirm this is working on:
i7-950 / GB-GA-X58A-UD5 / GTX285
Only had to roll-back the audio driver.
10.6.6 was very slow so I tried to go back to 10.6.3 by installing the whole os again (without formatting hard drive as have too many plugins i wanted to keep) but for some reason the usb does not work for my midi keyboard or ipod. how could i fix this?
@Juelz285 Sorry I could not help you to get your 10.6.6 running at full speed I have no clue what would cause a slow down. However I highly recommend that you start making a hard drive clone before you do updates. It saves you from botched updates and gives you something to fall back on when for some reason it does not boot.
carbon copy is a great free tool, however you need to make sure that you install chameleon on it either before or after you make the copy since it does not copy that portion.
Thanks norbs. I regret not doing a back up now. I assumed that i could just reinstall snow leopard again if there were any issues but that didnt work. I dont want to lose my applications i had downloaded but i am getting so frustrated trying to get te usb to work again. It seems to show in systen profiler that my ipod was connected but it does not work on itunes!
i have update to 10.6.6
but still my nvidia 460 gtx is unsupportable.
any help from you all will be appreciated thanks

Steps I Took and works perfect!
1.delete sleepenabler.kext
2.install 10.6.6
3.do not restart
4.run multibeast
5.restart
6.reinstall new sleepenabler.kext
7.run multibeast
8.restart and enjoy!
I updated to 10.6.6, had no sound, found this post, ran multibeast, but accidentally installed everything under the "audio" parent folder, and subsequently got a kernel error. Now I get the kernel panic on the gray apple boot screen. Is there any way to uninstall the stuff I stupidly installed?? I've been trying for a while to figure this out with apple forums but nothing is working! Please help..... Thanks
Arch installed 10.6.6 and after a few troubles of getting it to boot after kernel panics I now have it booting without iboot but no network connect!!! It used to work under the RealtekR1000SL.kext. Now I have to iboot to get internet :(

I don't get what some people are saying about updating straight from Apple and works fine "did'nt break my bootloader". I'm sorry but i think that these people are lying for whatever reason. i opened up update 10.6.6 with Pacifist and i can see that both the "mach_kernel" and boot files in "sbin" and "i386" are updated.
Infact thse files where updated at every stage of my update from 10.6.2 - 10.6.3 and from 10.6.3 - 10.6.5 and from 10.6.5 - 10.6.6
Basically after each update the system wouldn't start, the chamelion window loads and then nothing just a black screen.
So i extracted the files from the latest Chamelion bootloader saved them on my flashdrive then booted into Windows 7 with the Mac Hard Drive connected. Once in Windows i installed a cool little program called "MacDrive 8" this lets you access Hard Drives with OSX installed from Windows. I dragged and dropped the files from the chamelion bootloader i extracted earlier into place and then shutdown windows, disconnected the Windows Drive and booted the OSX Drive. Sweet it started straight up :)
Granted i had to do this after every update but if i was clever and listened to tony then i should have downloaded the 10.6.6 combo update but i already had previous updated and onl;y neede3d the 10.6.6 one so it seemed better.
One more thing i think that the about this mac pic at the top of this thread is fake because my 10.6.6 "about this Mac" window says "2011" on it not "2010" (Just an observation)
I have fully working OSX 10.6.6 With Sound Graphics and Internet. Anyway, hope i helped someone.
BTW OSX 11 Lion is on the horizon i have friends taking about a beta release of this Apple hybrid OS can't wait to give it a go....
Hi
i updated my os to 10.6.6 and my usb not working, after i run the multibeast, my system able to detect usb driver. my blue tooth working also. but i still cant get my ultimate N Wifi 5300 to work. anyone here know how to fix this?
anyone know how to get my ultimate N Wifi 5300 to work?
Just experienced a kernel panic after the Darwin 10.6.0 upgrade.
Rebooted and now back.
Report sent in to Apple.
18 Jan 2011
Another way to clone a hard drive is to run the dd command :
sudo dd bs=512 if=/dev/ of=/dev/
Worked like a charm for me, no problems updating with combo update from apple, but my kernel remained 10.5.0 :| . Although I sometimes get panics when I insert a pen drive... dunno why yet.
Configuration:
Dell Latitude D820 with Broadcom Wifi
Finally got it working on my Gigabyte GA-EP35, Q9550 and GTX 470 with 10.6.6. I had to use a combination of the GTX 470 Dual guide avaliable from the forums together with the retail Nvidia drivers. The Tony Nvidia update didnt work for me for some reason, black-screen-o-rama. The brand of my GTX 470 is Zotac, maybe that is a factor. Anyways, now it is working FINE.
A new problem has arisen since my last post all was working fine until this morning i pressed the power button and waited for bootup when where the logon screen is meant to load i get a blue flickering screen now every time i boot this happens ??? I gather that the graphics drivers are'nt loading so does anyone know how i can fix this ? I have a Nvidia GeForce 6200 256mb AGP. I was using NV40 Titan but this doesnt want to load now for some reason.
I have my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4, Q6600 with a Nvidia GTX 460 1gb working perfectly with 10.6.6. All ports are working with full acceleration.
Thank you TonyMac and your team with your wonderful tools.
I got it to boot now (No Blue Screen) but it's a bit random, Sometimes blue screen no logon sometimes logon ?? i checked permissions uising disk utility and the file "NVSMU.kext" permissions are wrong so i repaired permissions the rechecked and it came up again ?? so i tried the permission repair in iTweaks and again it says it fixed it but No, So i used Kext Utility 2.4.2 and rebooted then checked permissions with disc utility and still the same problem ?? It seems that this may be the cause of my random blue screen sometimes logon, Maybe ? why can't i repair permissions for this kext ? it says it permissions are being repaired but it lies... Could this kext be corrupted maybe ? anyone know where i can get it from to check "NVSMU.kext"
Thanks for listening.
i'm having vid resolution issue.

After failure on the first try (did not remove the SleepKext) had no problems on the second try. 10.6.6 working just fine...
Hello i have:
I 5 Quad
Gygabyte p55A-Ud5
After update to 10.6.6 some crash and error happen.
Anyone Have some idea how to fix?
everything seems fine to me in 10.6.6 but the app store is fully missing... somebody has any ideas why?
10.6.6 worked about 95%.
sleep was no problem with or without sleepenabler.kext.
However, now with mostly internet apps (ff,chr, saf, ie8, tbird, etc.) it will soft-lock. first app locks, then when you try to go to finder, it locks, you get the magic pinwheel, and it doesn't come back.
I have to hit the reset button, and it comes back fine.
10.6.5 was flawless operation, now 10.6.6 is buggy.

Hi, I have questions for updating to 10.6.6 from 10.6.3
I installed the 10.6.3 and I didn't register to apple or create an apple ID, then I do the software update but it's showing error message and after the restart I couldn't enter to the operating system screen. do I need to create an apple ID or register to apple before proceed to the updates?
Thanks
My sisters hubby ran the software update on the machine I had build for my nephew. Now I get a kernel panic when trying to boot.
It was running just fine with 10.6.4, but I assume he updated to 10.6.6.
Do I have to reinstall?
I used the dual boot tutorial on this site, so I can still access windows 7.
Just updated to 10.6.6 from 10.6.5 via Software Update. No problems so far, the App store seems to be working perfectly. Sound drivers are Voodoo HDA, Motherboard is a Gigabyte P35-DS3R, processor is an E6600, and my video card is an Nvidia GTX 275.
On a side note, I am using a Belkin USB adapter for my wireless connection and it worked perfectly after upgrade as well.
so my bluetooth don't work anymore. any fix?.
plzz im using a apple wireless mouse, so huge problem.
Great work,
Unforunately I have a GTX 460, can't get anything other than 1280 x 1024 resolution..
Well i scrapped my old system and installed an Elite Group KN1 SLI LITE,AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400 and a Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT 1GB PCI-E. BIG MISTAKE now osx acts very strangly even after a full re install keyboard won't work no matter what i do and the mouse take about 5 mins after loggon before i can click anything? I'm gonna scrap this system aswell, i'm currentley looking for a new Motherboard because the Elite Group KN1 SLI LITE Mobo's RAM Support sucks even in Windows.
Ran the apple system update. Now it won't boot :(
Dell mini v10
Working perfectly!
For security I backup it all the system information via Time Machine tool.
Removed the "sleepenabler.kext" before the installation.
Installed the update, clicked on "reboot" and after 1 minute waiting after the logoff nothing happen (only the light blue screen), so I pressed the "reset" button on my case.
After this the machine rebooted itself on the OS loading screen, and then booted normally.

Work great using Combo Update (From 10.6.5) with the following steps...
1. Backup /S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext, /S/L/E/IONetworkingFamily.kext (to restore after run combo update)
2. Run Combo Update, after finished do not restart
3. Replaced AppleHDA.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext with (1)
4. Remove /Extra/Extensions/SleepEnabler.kext
5. Run "Kext Utility" to rebuild cache and fixing permission (for both /Extra and /S/L/E)
6. Restart
** At first, i'm not remove the SleepEnabler.kext the system is always have Kernel Panic and Halt during start-up, Anyway it work great after remove it.
Good luck ;)
Updated to 10.6.6 but OS rebooted before I could install Multibeast and USB rollback and now none of my keyboards/mice work assuming its a USB issue. Is there a way to do the USB rollback. I tried safemode but still no USB. If I have to reinstall whats the easiest way to prevent the restart when you install the update.
successfully upgrade to 10.6.6
motherboard EP45-DS3R
ram Kingston 4G Hyper X DDR2
graphic PowerColour HD5850
upgrade directly from the combo file
sound, graphic all working good~!
I finally got itm well almost. I installed to my laptop (Toshiba Qosmio X305 w/ Core2 EE QX9300, nVidia M9700-GTS) from retail 10.6.0 DVD and updated manually to here (10.6.6). I now have working keyboard and trackpad as well as my USB luetooth mouse. I lost sounds and cannot get it back on seval attempts and I have no experience of how to remove, edit or install kexts. Also, since very beginning of install, I cannot view "About This Mac" from apple menue. Screan comes back and if an app or window was open it's now closed. I can manually view details in profile from Utilities. Sound worked fine before the update so I know my RealTek ALC272 codec is supported but I dont see the exact item in MultiBeast. What should I try?
What about wireless as well, how do I get support for my onboard Intel Wimax WiFi 5350 ABGN card? wired LAN worked out of the box.

After Upgrade to 10.6.6 the system is 25% slower than 10.6.4 .. :(
Working, sort of on AMD athlon x2 3800+, 3gigs ram, GTX460. Marvin's AMD patcher won't startup to patch cpuid's. Reads as core2duo at the correct speed for my AMD and correct amount of ram, but it shows bus speed at 100mhz. I know I'm fighting an uphill battle with the AMD/GTX460 combo, but when it runs it seems to do so quickly. Sudden double panics are a pain tho.
While updating to 10.6.6, I get kernal panic when I get to the part where it says, "Moving items into place..."

I have been able to update from 10.6 to 10.6.6 via the combo update on AMD 3000+/2gb DDR2/Nvidia 8600GT 256mb. I didn't remove sleepenabler.kext...I just had to reinstall (after reboot) IOUSB and my AMD kernel. But no matter what I tried I couldn't get QE/CI re-enabled. I got it enabled via Kush and nvidiainstaller v41 (I think 41) w/o NVinject. That's the only way I could manage to get it working on 10.6, and I tried everything.
Well, I tried everything I could possibly find, retail drivers included...sound, USB, networking, everything working fine except QE/CI.
I'm going to try again deleting sleepenabler.kext this time....I'd love to hear any tips.
