What is better Unibeast or rBoot (leaving aside the fact USB is re-writable... (unless you're using a RW DL DVD of course)

What does the USB fix do? Does it make the hard drives spin down like they should, or prevent them from unmounting after waking from sleep?

is there a easy way to update unibeast 1.1 to a USB stick already with unibeast 1.0 + lion install?

Was wondering the same thing!

Looks like doesn't work for me, I mean UniBeast 1.1 + 10.7.3 from App Store.

I switched back to UniBeast 1.0 + 10.7.2 from App Store, it works fine.

When I tried to burn the 10.7.3 install app onto a USB stick with 1.0, it just displayed the "Preparing the disk" message for 45 minutes. Is this the fix?

Worked first time on a HDD with 3 partitions.
I try now on a HDD with MBR and 1 partition, and unibeast only installs boot, and 3 folders : Library, tmp and usr.
A fix is coming?

Great work, Tony! After a small issue with too many HDDs plugged in and attempting to use USB 3.0 to install, Lion is working great! Next step: GTX580 acceleration and Multi-boot with Windows 7/Ubuntu.

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
Intel Core i7-2700k @4.5 Ghz
EVGA GTX580 Classified Ultra
8GB Corsair Vengeance (blue) RAM
Homebuilt 802.11a/b/g/n wireless card
OCZ Agility III 120 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD

Does not work, throws "Can't find" when selecting USB to boot. Previous version works just fine.

When would a new version of Unibeast released for installing Mountain Lion?

It's useless to have a bootloader with mountain lion support when you are not able to install it...

I hope a unibeast for mountain lion would be released soon.

Thanks in advance

Hi all - Having a bit of a bad time with the UniBeast 1.10 install here.

Already have a fantastically working SnowLeo 10.6.8 on a Gigabyte Z68AP-D3. Thanks TonyMac et al for that.

Followed the instructions here to put my purchased App Store copy of Lion 10.7.3 onto a USB stick, and got to step 3.

I'm able to reboot into the USB stick using F12 [Gigabyte boot load screen], but it doesn't go any further than the Apple logo.

In fact if I view the screen without -v, the Apple logo has a "forbidden" O with a slash through it, above the logo. I thought this might be an AHCI issue BUT -- rebooting into SnowLeo works fine.

F12 again, selected USB-HDD, rebooted using -v and found at the end it said 'waiting for root device' and it looped around indefinitely.

Tried various combinations of -x -v -f -s GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=0 but nothing gets me past 'waiting for root device.'

Any thoughts? Thanks one and all.
