To use on an existing system, download and replace your /Extra/DSDT.aml. For a fresh install, instructions on MultiBeast's UserDSDT are available here. Be sure to only use the matching DSDT for your motherboard and BIOS version.

Great Jobs. Tony
Happy New Year 2012
oh sure - just when I grab all the files and burn a disc before going to bed last night - LOL Thanks for the F10 DSDT though -> I was looking forward to that for the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
is it just me, or is searching for gigabyte motherboard model numbers a pita with the search function on this site? any minus seems to tell it to NOT look for certain words...
this is going to be my first build:
Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retail
Lion USB retail
GA-Z68XUD3H-B3 (F10 thanks!)
i5-2500k
2x F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL G.SKILL RAM (16gb)
GV-685OC-1GD VIDEO
Sony OptiArc AD-7280S (read this might be noisy - willing to replace with Lite-On or other compat. drive that's quieter)
CoolerMaster 600w:RS-600-AMBA-D3 Modular power
I have a few basic aluminum chassis around, so was trying to keep costs down... parts are en route from NewEgg (Links from here used - thanks guys).
any/all help in navigating the site is greatly appreciated - I have tried to read and absorb/understand as much as I possibly can prior to starting the buying process... when I bought the OS, it appears that it was during the lion transition, and Snow Leopard was still king when it came to Hackintoshes, and Lion was still new and under-documented - but now with xmove, etc... things are even more interesting (and potentially confusing). again - any/all help appreciated - especially from those who have similar hardware... I have a feeling that there will be a few speedbumps during the install process, and am willing to ride those out, as long as I continue to see progress along the way...
Thanks to everyone who has posted everywhere on this site - I have learned quite a bit - and look forward to learning even more. Thanks again - sorry for the long winded first post/comment.
Why STILL no ASUS mobo DSDT's? The DSDT database STILL says for ASUS sandy bridge mobos: coming soon! How soon is soon, exactly?
is there improvements in the DSDT patches or it's just to stick to latest bios versions ?
Sleep + USB Keyboard/Mouse still problematic ?
@Anonymous-
The reason we don't have minimal edits for Socket 1155 Asus boards is that their UEFI has a locked MSR value, prohibiting the use of native Power Management Kexts.
There are two solutions-
1. Edit the Power Management Kext- via SpeedStepper script or other.
Issue: Every time you Software Update, you'll have to do this.
2. Edit the actual UEFI image to allow the MSR value to be changed.
MacMan's working on a post that will document these 2 solutions.
In either case, workarounds for basic power management makes Gigabyte the better choice as a recommendation in my opinion. You can run them with native power management kexts via a simple DSDT edit.
Thanks MacMan and tonymacx86. Another milestone to this great site! Are we looking at Asus motherboards soon?
I ahve a ASrock P67 extreme4 gen3 motherboard, and cannot find any dsdt for it. please make them available or tell me where to get them
One question-
SHOULD I update my bios and dsdt?
For the GA-Z68XP-UD3 (rev. 1.0)
F7 adds Intel 22nm CPU support update
F8 adds Improve Recovery software compatibility,
Do we really need either of these?
Thanks!
Yes agreed, but Gigabyte has proved with their X79 fiasco and recalls that they are not testing their products sufficiently. Also Marvel Bios is unstable in Gigabyte Sata3, and really Asus is far more reliable these days. Sorry to disappoint but this is documented fact if you search for information.
use easy beast instead of DSDT for Asus motherboards :)
I have the same question as an above poster, will this fix the USB keyboard sleep/wake issues?
Thanks for the hard work. I was reinstalling Lion due to replacing my HDD with an SSD and stumbled across this while coming to download Multibeast.
Gigabyte says the going from F4 to F5 on my GA-Z68M-D2H only adds 22nm support, but there may some hidden improvements, who knows.. I upgraded anyway.
Thanks for all you guys do!
Hey Tony/all, I have a a brand new HP Envy 15 which has a ATI HD7690M (Which is an exact rebadge of the HD6750M). Im wondering how I can get video to work with this card, is it just as simple as adding my hw ids to some list? Right now after "DSMOS has arrived" my screen flickers and goes black. Thanks!
Yeah(referring to tonymac's post). But what I don't get is that why desktops need power management.
What changes were added in the new addition to the DSDT BIOS update?. It would be helpful to know.
thanks
I have just got my Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2H-USB3 F2 working without a dsdt and with some manual mucking about. It seems stable - should I now run MultiBeast again with this new one or shall I leave it be?
I have a GA-P67A-D3-B3 rev1. I updated to F5, and did clean install of lion. Any idea why my ethernet works just fine with stock kext then have to use Lnx2Mac driver after I install DSDT?
Excellent work everyone! Once again a very useful update to an already unmatched database!
As a side note, it increasingly amazes me how many people think that the comments sections is:
a) a helpdesk
Seriously, this is a post about custom motherboard DSDT's and you are asking about your graphics card? That is what the forums are for: http://www.tonymacx86.com/index.php
You will have a much better chance of getting help there, in fact I would say 99% of the "hey how do I make this work" questions are unanswered in the comments section as people finally figure out where the forums are (not difficult). You're welcome for the couple of hours I just saved you.
b) an appropriate place to complain
Seeing as you are getting EVERYTHING that TonyMac and the team offers totally free of charge, you don't get to sit around and complain about not getting custom DSDT's for your motherboard. If it's that important to you, there are several very well documented tutorials on creating your own DSDT.
Have a nice day!
how do i tell which dsdt file to download? i have a gigabyte GA-z68mx-ud2h-b3 motherboard (bios revision 1.3) i found the MOBO on the DSDT database, but i don't know which one to download... it has F4 ,F5 ,F9 ,F11 ,and F12 . is there a difference? if so, then what is the difference?
if it helps, i am building a machine with snow leopard (plans to upgrade to lion ASAP), 8 gigs of RAM, and have a sandy bridge intel i5 processor. it is one of the recomended Sandy bridge machines (build 3 i think)
F1,F2..ETC are the bios version. You download the one that is for the bios version you are currently running.
Gigabyte GA-H67M-D2-B3-1.0 F5 lost audio now! Help!
are there any certified boards that run ecc ram?
looking to replace my Xeon 2006 mac pro which i use as a remote backup destination.
I would love to have this macman post with a solution for ASUS motherboards. I have one and I would like to have a sleep enabled mac.
awesome. I wish I will get one of these soon.
OH !! THANK YOU! GOD BLESS YOU !!!!
Any options for 889a (p55m-ud4). No rollback needed until 10.6.8, then it broke it. Thank You.
Hi, i have a question..
for the gigabyte z68xp-ud3 there are revisions 1.0 and 1.3
Does that make any difference on which dsdt i should be using? I have the rev 1.3.
Thanks
I have a problem. After the update, GA-Z68MX-UD2H-b3 f11 to f12 shows me the desktop hard drive to yellow. Multi Beast I've also installed. What can I do? Gruss wona
