MultiBeast 3.4 Update

Today MultiBeast was updated to version 3.4.  The latest version is now available at tonymacx86.com/downloads.

Please do not upload or redistribute MultiBeast to any other sites.

Full list of changes:
  • Added ATI 1.6.32.12 Drivers to Graphics. These are all of the updated ATI drivers from the Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update for early 2011 MacBook Pro (Sandy Bridge). This option will backup the currently installed versions to a folder on the desktop.
  • Added MacBookPro8,1 System Definition
  • Corrected description for Voodoo PS/2 Controller to "Enables non-USB keyboard/mouse and is 32-bit only."
  • Added Voodoo PS/2 Trackpad to Miscellaneous. This adds trackpad support for Laptops and requires Voodoo PS/2 Controller to also be installed. 32-bit only.
If this utility has helped you, please consider a contribution to support further MultiBeast development.  Thanks in advance, and enjoy!

Just ran it with the native ati drivers. When I reboot the apple logo and spinner appears for awhile and then disappears. Now I'm stuck on a blank gray screen. Doesn't seem like the drivers are working properly. How do I rollback to the previous drivers.

I have an ATI 5770.

Thanks!

Do we need to have a Sandy Bridge mobo/cpu to utilize the new driver capability to support 5xxx or 6xxx cards?

Or can we gain native support of these latest Radeons on legacy boards - i.e. socket 775/Core 2's running say a 6970? TY

Boot with iBoot CD and copy the backup kexts from the desktop in the correct /Extensions folder.

Tony, i know Multibeast is at all for P55/P58...etc Intelboards, but i'm using it also on Legacy hardware. It would be nice to see the following additions:
Network:
- Realtek RTL8100E/RTL8101E/RTL8102E-GR/RTL8103E(L)RTL8102E(L)/RTL8101E/RTL8103T RTL8401/RTL8401P/RTL8105E
driver from there Website (RTGMac_v2.0.6.zip)
- Atheros drivers from:
http://code.google.com/p/iats/downloads/list

and at least: the option for the legacy kernel

would that be possible?

It looks like the 8,1 early 2011 macbook pro model supports integrated graphics, specifically Intel HD Graphics 3000. This may be reaching here, but would it be possible to get the i915 using this driver - maybe a pci/ven injection? According to wiki, the 3000 is very close to the i915 in architecture (you can't believe everything you read on the internet though ;-).

If you think it's worth a shot, I'll experiment with it. I'd like to hear your op.

Thanks!

Took out graphics enabler commands from apple bootplist and works a dream with my xfx hd 5770 card. At least one less thing to worry about. Pitty I still havent managed to work out a perfect dsdt for my system.

I rolled back like this...

Boot into single user mode. In iBoot or Chameleon use "-s".

fsck and mount harddrive as it says on the screen.

Then I did

#rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/ATI*
#cp -R /Desktop/ATI-Backup/* /System/Library/Extensions/
#chmod 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ATI*
#chown 0:0 /System/LIbrary/Extensions/ATI*
#reboot

Just installed my new 6850 successfully, I have a P55-ud3l with alc892 sound board.
Sound preferences present, I see the input and output options, but no sound coming out from the speakers.

Before 6850 I had a 4850 with no hdmi out, after the videocard change my soud stopped working. Maybe it's a hdmi sound out problem...

Someone else dealing with the same problem? Any solution for it?

Thanks,
Norbert

I have a GA-P55-USB3 with 860 i7 and 9500 GT graphics. Multibeast 3.4 induces KPs on my system; using 3.3 does not. After much work, am still unable to Dx the issue, any thoughts on what's the root cause of the KPs? 3.3 works and I am fine with that but intrigued with the issue.

hey guys i just cant seem to crack this... my only issue is that when i boot my PC using the iboot cd i can run mac every time however whenever i use the multibeast setup or chameleon the boot fails.., could you please explain why this is as by booting with the iboot CD i use generic drivers and this causes my sound cards input not to work which is one feature i really need... any assistance is appreciated
