This is really heart breaking to me and to all of us who loves apple. I dont't know what to say. Apple will never be the same. As Im about to build my hackintosh this makes me very sad, honestly my world revolved around Steve and his thinking. This is a very sad day for me.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life,” Jobs said. “Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Here's to the crazy ones.
     The misfits.

               The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify them or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.
Because while some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

And it's the people who are crazy enough to think they can
change the world who actually do.

Now it's time for a "Social Network", but this time focusing on the Jobs/Gates of the 60's and 70's, you know, for those of us lucky enough to have that Apple ][ when we were kids, those of us that had that chiclet keyboard x86 box, and then the first mouse. I would think that would be far more interesting than that Facebook saga....

RIP....

Mr Steve Jobs,

You inspired me to press on and rethink the way I look towards the future in technology and in life itself. Through your innovations I found mine. You made me notice a man on a mission to create what hasn't been created. And that you did. Farewell and may you rest in peace my friend.

As a newspaperman, and specifically a news photographer, I can say hand-on-heart he changed the world where I've spent most of my life.

DTP thanks to the Mac, and the ability to get pictures out of previously impossible situations.

Truly a game-changing, world-shaking man and company. I'm sure we'll see his like again, but not for a long, long time.

“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” -Steve Jobs ‎[Stanford commencement speech, June 2005]

Apple is simply "Beauty with Brains" I hardly eat Apple but its part of my life 24hrs 365 days & always, I am loving it. Hat's of to Mr Steve .

Anonymous said...

After these several days I still can't believe "The Steve" is gone. Once all his remaining ideas have been used, what's left for Apple? Before Jobs and Woz there really was no consumer PC. When Jobs was thrown out, Apple became a company grasping at straws. They simply took the Mac and repackaged it with small improvements, but not much innovation. Let us hope Jobs has assembled a team that can come together to innovate for years to come.

The Steve is gone... Long live the Steve!

From the moment I used my first Mac in 1986, I was hooked. My first BIG purchase was a Mac Classic for AUD$2250 which I upgraded to 2.5MB RAM and a 40MB hard drive.
I wrote my PhD on that unit and it still boots. Mac made sense to me and its logical approach (most of the time) is something I've always loved. It was always a great tool with which 'academics' like myself could do great things. I still can!
Thanks Steve, you'll be very 'cool' dude for generations to come. Condolences to your family.
