KextBeast: Simple Kext Installer

Introducing KextBeast!  MacMan and I made this quick little package to help us test various drivers, and we thought it would help you all as well.  It's a simple installer for any .kext, .plugin, or .bundle files.  It will also do multiple files at once and rebuild caches.

For now, it only works for files that are meant to be installed in /System/Library/Extensions, such as network, graphics, and some audio drivers.

How it works:

 1. Place files on desktop.
 2. Run KextBeast
 3. Reboot

Kext doesn't ever show up in the Extension directory like it should.

In fact seems like nothing really happens.

Same here. Can't locate it, not even with Finder

i was hoping to add a comment here letting the rest of us know, who are sitting here scratching our heads, how to use, or at least where to find, this little app.

...but i, too, can't figure it out. it 'installs' .. yes, but then what. where'd the goat go?! :D

Same, I install it and it vanishes. It says installs in the main drive but its nowhere to be seen at all. Does nothing.

@All having issues with KextBeast-

You're confusing what KextBeast is. The installer IS the whole thing- you put a .kext file on your Desktop, then run it. It will install the kext to whichever installation you target. Installs into the /System/Library/Extensions folder. Then you reboot- and your new kext will be loaded.

Good luck- and sorry for the confusion. :D
